Privacy policy

The short version: MorseBeep has no accounts and does not upload what you type. The translation, the sound and any file you download are made in your browser, on your own device. To see how the tools are used, the site uses Microsoft Clarity, which sets cookies.

Who is responsible

MorseBeep (morsebeep.online) is run by Kashif Sulehria, Lahore, Pakistan. Contact: hello@morsebeep.online.

What stays on your device

• What you type in the translator and generator is processed by code running in your browser. It is not sent to MorseBeep or anyone else.
• Your settings (speed, tone, volume, which outputs are on, and light or dark mode) are saved in your browser's local storage so they are there next time. You can clear them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
• Share links contain your message in the address (for example ?t=hello). Anyone you send the link to can read it, and it may be kept in browser history.

Microphone (Morse code decoder)

The decoder asks for the microphone only when you press Listen. The sound is analysed in your browser as it arrives and immediately discarded: nothing is recorded, saved or sent anywhere. The same goes for audio files you open in the decoder. Press Stop listening, or leave the page, and the microphone is released.

Camera (Android flashlight)

If you switch on "Flash with the phone flashlight too", your browser asks for permission to use the camera. This is the only way a website can turn the flashlight on and off. MorseBeep uses the camera only to control the light: no picture or video is recorded, shown or sent anywhere, and the camera is released when you switch the option off or leave the page.

Server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel's servers process basic request data (such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver pages and protect the service from abuse. MorseBeep does not use this data to identify you.

Analytics: Microsoft Clarity

MorseBeep uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how the tools are used, such as which buttons people press, how far they scroll and where a page is confusing, so the site can be improved. Clarity records clicks, taps, scrolling and mouse movement, the pages you visit (including the address of a shared link) and general information about your device, such as the browser, screen size and approximate location worked out from your IP address. Recordings are used only to improve MorseBeep.

The text you type into the translator and the generator, and the translations they show, are hidden from these recordings.

Clarity uses cookies to recognise a returning visitor: _clck (up to one year) and _clsk (one day). The data is processed by Microsoft under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. You can opt out by blocking cookies for this site in your browser or by using a tracking blocker; every tool keeps working.

Advertising

MorseBeep does not show ads or use advertising cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated first and, where the law requires it, you will be asked for consent before any advertising cookies are set.

Email

If you email us, we receive your email address and your message and use them only to reply. Emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your message and are never sold or shared for marketing.

Children

MorseBeep is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

MorseBeep itself holds no personal data about visitors beyond emails you send. Analytics data is held by Microsoft Clarity and deleted automatically after its retention period. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, write to hello@morsebeep.online.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
